I’ve had neuropathy for seven years and a lot of other medical issues that were pretty serious.  And no one could help me other than drugs and having surgery and so forth.

After going through the program I had a tremendous improvement.  I mean my left arm, it doesn’t go numb, it’s not paralyzed anymore.  I’ve had bouts of paralysis with pain on my left arm and on my right leg and I haven’t had an episode since I started treatment.

I’ve actually only been coming in a month.  So it’s a tremendous improvement and look forward to even greater improvement.

Seven years with neuropathy, I’ve been on all these medications.  Doctors basically said there was no cure per se, no hope, it’s not dietary, it’s not this, you just suffer with the pain of it.  And that’s not necessarily true. I am living proof of it.

“I woke up one day with severe pain in my back, which then the next day traveled down my right hip and into my right quadriceps area.  It was extremely painful.  So I went to the doctor and subsequently got an MRI done.  The MRI showed I have bulging disks, severely bulging disks in the lumbar region of my spine which is pressing on the nerve root which was causing a severe nerve damage and nerve pain down my right leg and I literally could not — you saw me when I came in.

When I was first walking with a cane and I could barely put any weight on my right leg. I was bent over in agony.

Yes.  And so that day the doctor started me on treatment which includes the decompression therapy.  And as you can see me after ten treatments; I’ve had ten treatments.  I am now able to lay down in my bed whereas before I could not lay down in my bed to sleep.

Before treatment the most comfortable position for me was sitting down in a chair.  So I literally slept for five nights in my desk chair with a pile of pillows on my desk with my head like so for five nights. That was the only comfortable position I could be in without the nerves — and I was taking narcotics too, by the way, and they were dulling the pain but it wasn’t taking it away.

I first came into the office because of terrible, terrible pain in my lower back.  I have suffered for over six months and it was just my whole life was just on hold because I had never ever experienced any pain in my life before, so I was very fortunate at my age.  But I had gone to a back and spine doctor  and they sent me to PT and it just — it was excruciating pain.

So then I found Dr. Serpe.  I went to his website. I was just didn’t know what was wrong and they were not helping me at the regular doctor’s offices.  And so I saw the decompression therapy and came in, gave it a try and it’s — in just four weeks’ time I’m so much better.

It’s like I’m not crabby anymore.  I get up in the morning, the pain is nothing like it was.  I can just see an improvement.  And because of this I’m not depressed.  I was just so bummed out because I had never in my life experienced any kind of — I was very fortunate — pain.  Now I have a whole new appreciation for people that have pain.

It’s amazing.  And this is just incredible.  You know, the fact that, you know, brain-based, it’s all in your brain and neurological how it’s all connected and how much it all helps you.  And I feel healthier as a whole because of this now again and it’s just made me so much — so very aware.  And I am just so grateful.  I just can’t tell you enough how grateful I am that I feel like I have a future still because before I just thought I was doomed.  I was in such pain daily and it was affecting my life and because I had never encountered that before.  And the thought of a surgery was scary too.  And here there was no surgery, just a matter of coming in and doing your exercises; it actually feels better.  And it’s just incredible.

I felt better probably the first few times I came.  Actually the first time I could tell immediately that I felt better, and I just was — that was like a whole light had opened up and I said, “I think I found something that’s working.”  It’s amazing.  It’s amazing, all of it.  And it makes perfect sense, our brains — and that’s what the pain was:  I had a bulging, herniated disk pressing on those nerves because nothing got better.  Anything the other doctors told me didn’t do anything.  And I was frustrated with them because it didn’t seem like they cared.  And everyone here is so wonderful and helpful and it’s been a great experience.”
